Now Playing: Mechanical Morphing helicopter airframe
- Description: Working on this rotor system design; following initial design outlined in my patent; presented to DARPA who said it had merit but felt pay off was not high enough for DOD. A few others were looking it over. No word as of yet. Go figurer. A bit in left field. Its a morphing (mechanical) airframe to control the rotor disc for directional flight control. Effort to eliminate the angular differences between retreating and advancing blades due to the mechanical nature of swash plates when a helicopter with a semi-rigid rotor system transitions from a hover into lateral flight, requiring additional flight control manipulation to prevent loss of lift in the direction of lateral flight.
